Supporting Local Communities Through Fundraising
On August 15, the Charleston Building and Construction Trades Council (CBCTC) joined forces with community partners to host the 2nd Annual Red Kettle Classic, a charity golf tournament benefiting the Charleston Area Salvation Army.
Tournament Success at Little Creek Golf Club
The event, held at Little Creek Golf Club in Charleston, West Virginia, raised a total of $22,906.78. Of that amount, nearly $12,000 was contributed directly by CBCTC members, contractors, and affiliates.
A Strong Partnership with the Salvation Army
The fundraiser is part of a multi-year partnership between the Charleston Building Trades and the Salvation Army, with both organizations working together on events that give back to the community.
Leadership Gratitude and Support
“We appreciate the partnership we have with the Salvation Army…Working with them gives us an opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to us, and we hope to be able to continue to do so for many years to come.”
Fred Chandler, Business Manager for the CBCTC.
Chandler also expressed appreciation for the many union members and signatory contractors who stepped up to make the fundraiser a success.
Continuing Community Outreach
In addition to the Red Kettle Classic, the CBCTC partners with the Salvation Army on several other efforts throughout the year.
