Celebrating Members and Families
Earlier this summer, the Operating Engineers Local 132 held their 12th annual Equipment Rodeo at the union’s training center in Medina, West Virginia.

A Tradition of Appreciation
The IUOE’s annual Equipment Rodeo is designed to show appreciation for members and their families while also giving operators the chance to demonstrate their skills in a friendly competition.
Showcasing Operator Skills

Each year, IUOE 132 members participate in five different competitions testing their ability to handle heavy machinery. Events include:
- Dozers
- Rubber tire backhoes
- Cherry pickers
- Excavators
- Mini excavators
Fun for the Whole Family
Beyond the operator competitions, the event also featured a fishing contest for kids and a luncheon for all attendees, making it a family-centered celebration.
Strengthening Brotherhood in the Trades
“We look forward to holding this event every year…The Rodeo gives our new members a chance to reconnect with the old, and it allows us to show appreciation for everyone who makes our organization great.”
Chuck Parker, President of Operating Engineers Local 132.
Building Connections Across Generations
Events like the 12th Annual Equipment Rodeo strengthen the bonds between apprentices, journeymen, retirees, and their families, reinforcing the strong community at IUOE Local 132.
