On May 9, the Charleston Building and Construction Trades, in partnership with the Kanawha Valley Builders Association, hosted the 31st Annual Kanawha Valley Construction Labor-Management Golf Scramble. This year’s event, held at Berry Hills Golf Club in Charleston, West Virginia, raised an impressive $10,000 for HospiceCare, a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate end-of-life services to patients in need.

A Milestone in Charitable Giving

The $10,000 raised marks the largest fundraising total in the history of the event. Representatives from HospiceCare estimate that since 2002, more than $100,000 has been contributed through this annual golf scramble to support their mission.

Labor and Management Give Back—Together

The golf outing reflects a long-standing partnership between Kanawha Valley Builders Association and the Charleston Building and Construction Trades Council to give back to the community they help build every day.

“We believe it’s important to give back, especially to such a great cause,” said Fred Chandler, Business Manager for the Charleston Building and Construction Trades Council. “By working together as labor and management, we double our efforts to support this charity and build a stronger relationship together in the process.”
