International Brotherhood of Electricians Local 141 along with their contractor partners sponsor a five year apprenticeship program based in Wheeling.
Career fields include Inside Electrician, Telecommunications Technician and Residential Electrical.

Each type of electrical work shares common skills and knowledge. Each also has other skills and knowledge, which are specific to that particular area of work. Because of these differences, each type of work has a different apprenticeship program associated with it. Basic requirements for becoming an apprentice in any of the programs are similar, however. The following requirements are typical for individuals applying to be accepted into an IBEW/NECA Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (JATC) or IBEW/NECA Area Wide Joint Apprenticeship Program (AJATC).
Minimum age 18
High School Education
One Year of High School Algebra
Qualifying Score on an Aptitude Test
Drug Free
Applications are accepted year round, Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11:30AM and 1:00 to 3:30 PM at 82 Burkham Court Wheeling,WV 26003. Each applicant who meets all basic requirements will be interview by the JATC. The interviewers will consider reliability, interest, attitude, judgement, cooperativeness, as well as other traits.
